Welcome to one of the premier tennis and pickleball facilities in central Arizona.


The Tennis and Pickleball Center at IronOaks features ten lighted hard tennis courts and ten post-tension slab Pickleball courts. Whether you are new to Tennis or Pickleball or have played for years, our facilities will help you grow and improve. 

  • Pickleball General Information
    • Pickleball Court hours of operation

      Court hours are designated as Prime Time (requires a paid Pickleball membership) and Recreational (Non-Prime) Time (available to all IronOak Homeowners).

      Hours of Operation

      Prime Time (Paid Members):

      November - February

      • Monday thru Friday: 7:30AM - 3:00PM
      • Saturday & Sunday: 7:30AM - 3:00PM

      March - October

      • Monday thru Friday: 6:00AM - 3:00PM
      • Saturday & Sunday: 6:00AM - 3:00PM
      Prime time Warm Up is from Sunrise to 7:30AM


      Year Round Recreational Time (Homeowners):

      • Monday thru Friday - 3:00PM until 9:00PM
      • Saturday & Sunday 3:00 PM until 9:00PM

      • All players (prime and recreational) must show a homeowner's card at the Fitness Front Desk or to a Court Monitor.
      • In addition, all players must have a signed Waiver of Liability Form on file at the Fitness Front Desk
      • Contact the Fitness Center for information on joining Pickleball.

      Pickleball Professional

      Chris Hall, Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Certified, is the IronOaks Pickleball Professional. He began playing racquet sports in his youth. He began playing tennis and ping pong but fell in love with racquetball. He spent the next 25 years playing competitive racquetball at the State, Regional, and National levels based in New England, New York, and finally Arizona. While studying Exercise Science in college, Chris helped create and manage the Union College and ASU intercollegiate racquetball teams and played as the #1 player for each school in Regional and National Intercollegiate championships.

      Chris was introduced to the sport of Pickleball in 2017 at the Chandler Recreation Center and was quickly converted to this fantastic social and competitive game. Within 6 months of learning Pickleball, Chris was recommended to become a Pickleball Ambassador to represent, teach, and promote Pickleball in Gilbert, AZ for the USA Pickleball Association.

Pickleball

One of the hottest new sports, pickleball, has many enthusiastic players. IronOaks features ten courts with eight newly constructed. Residents, join us for casual play and competitive tournaments. There’s always a game and a fun group at the pickleball courts.

Tennis

The IronOaks Racquet Center features 10 lighted hard tennis courts. Our tennis pro offers lessons with both skill training and cardio endurance. The Racquet Center is also home to the IronOaks Tennis Club (IOTC) that sponsors many social play events and offers several team play matches daily for beginner to advanced skill levels. The club hosts many USTA national and sectional championship teams, nationally ranked players and several USTA Tournaments.

  • Tennis Club
    • Membership in the IronOaks Tennis Club is available to all residents of the IronOaks community. In addition, a limited number of non-resident memberships are available. There is an annual membership fee for those who wish to have full privileges. Members have the advantage of being able to request court reservations using an online reservation system. The online system assigns courts 3 days prior to play and notifies the players of their court time and court number. Members also enjoy social events, tournaments and other club activities as well as access to the sauna, lap pool, lockers, shower, and whirlpool. All residents and their guests may use the facility with some restrictions.

      Tennis Professional

      Originally from Upstate New York, Kwong Young started teaching after he arrived in Tempe, Arizona in 1987. He played #2 for Broome Community College in Binghamton, New York. Kwong and his wife Marji lives in Sun Lakes (Cottonwood). His hobby and escape from the tennis world is playing pool, a sport he practices everyday on his pool table at home. You can view some of Coach Kwong tennis skills on YouTube. Search for "Kwong Young Tennis". Coach Kwong tennis tip "Never watch the ball when you play, instead stare at the ball!"
