Our Mission & Vision

A brief history of IronOaks

The Sun Lakes active adult community began in 1972 with 2,560 acres of farmland, spearheaded by real estate developer Ed Robson. The partnership initially sold lots and mobile homes in order to compete with Sun City in the west valley. Robson survived the energy crisis of the mid-seventies and bought out his partners. In 1976, Mr. Robson began offering single family homesites in Sun Lakes.

Living the Good Life

IronOaks has what active adults want in their community. Whether you are retired or still in the workforce, there is something for everyone. Our gated community of two neighborhoods is situated in the southeast Phoenix metro area. IronOaks features 730 homes in Ironwood and 3,289 homes in Oakwood. You will find a world of activities and amenities to choose from on any particular day. 45 holes of golf ranging from a par 67 to a par 72 are in your backyard, along with a fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts, a softball field, two restaurants, an arts and crafts center, and banquet and meeting spaces for small and large groups. Now sold out, Sun Lakes is comprised of approximately 10,000 established homes, a softball field, five golf courses, the first-of-its-kind Jason Morton Tennis Center, eight newly designed pickleball courts, five country clubs, two shopping centers, and medical and education centers.
