The Oakwood Pool will be closed beginning Monday, December 19th, for approximately 6 days for deck work.

The Halley Pool will be closed from December 21st through 30th for deck work.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please feel free to utilize the Voax or Ironwood Clubhouse Main pool during this time. Should we be able to open the pools earlier, we will send a notification.

We need YOU! This time of year the blood supply is in jeopardy.  Please schedule and spend an hour of your time saving up to three lives.

For the holidays, take the opportunity to relive some fun childhood holiday times by viewing a model train set up at the Oakwood Clubhouse. The Sun Lakes Model Railroad Club will be displaying a model railroad in the lobby of the Oakwood Clubhouse. It will be available for viewing on the following dates and times:

• Friday, December 16th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm
• Daily from Saturday, December 17th, through Wednesday, December 21st, from 11:00am-1:30pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm
• Thursday, December 22nd, from 11:00am-1:30pm

Bring the grandkids or just the kid in you to see the trains run!

The Sun Lakes Model Railroad Club is an all-scales model railroad club that consist of Sun Lakes and local area expert modelers.

Thank you to those residents who have already voted. We appreciate you taking the time to learn about this important issue in front of you for a vote. As of Tuesday, December 13th, we've had 3,007 votes submitted (75.4% of the eligible homeowners). Have your voice count and vote! The vote closes Thursday at 4:00pm for electronic submissions.  You may also vote in person on Friday, December 16th from 9:00am-9:30am.

If you use any of these areas and would like to participate in a Focus Group considering how to best utilize these areas, send us an email. Include your name, email, and phone number, along with the area you are interested in providing input on (Golf Patio, Pools, or Poolside). Initial renderings for your review are available at the Oakwood Golf Shop, the Fitness Center, and the Oakwood Clubhouse.

Focus group interest will be accepted until December 23rd. You will be contacted with additional details in January.

The Ironwood construction has been pushed out by two weeks due to a setback from our drywall subcontractor. Construction will end by January 16th.

Closures will resume at 6:00am on Saturday, December 17th, and will continue through 6:00pm on Sunday, December 18th.

This will affect ALL auto and bike traffic. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated and will be allowed access to IronOaks via the N. Dobson gate if needed.

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is conducting a planning study of Riggs Road from Old Price Road to Arizona Avenue. Pedestrian and bicycle facilities are developed sporadically along this section of Riggs Road, resulting in gaps in connectivity for pedestrians and bicyclists as well as challenges accessing facilities. The purpose of this study is to identify and prioritize Active Transportation needs along the corridor and evaluate existing pedestrian facilities for compliance with the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design (2010 Standards). Over the past few weeks, work has been in process on the Fitness Center pool.  Below is a general schedule for the remainder of the work as well as other pool projects.
Please keep in mind, these dates may have to move due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

• Wednesday, December 14th: Painted the deck at the Fitness Lap Pool.
• Saturday, December 17th: Fitness Lap Pool can open back up for operations, classes, and lap swimming.
• Monday, December 19th: Oakwood Main/Lap Pool will close for deck work. 
• Saturday, December 21st: Halley Pool will close for deck work through December 30th.

For those who have the App on their phones, the time change has been corrected. The times on the App were different from the Fitness Class time. You will need to delete the App and then reload it if the “fix” has not already been executed on your device.

Residents will receive a free boxed lunch and up to $20 in gift cards! Tatanka Media Group Study will be conducting a research study on Prevagen, an over-the-counter supplement for healthy brain function and memory improvement. The only information you need to provide is your first name and your age range (study is set for 45yrs - 70yrs of age). There will be two opportunities to offer your opinion. With each opportunity you receive a $10 gift card plus a free boxed lunch. Appointments last approximately 15 minutes and start at 10:00am. Provide valuable feedback and assist in research deciding which national TV commercial is aired.

On Wednesday, December 7th, the CSD hosted an Open House showing anyone who wanted to stop by all the options for paying their annual HOA dues. 

If you were unable to attend, there are several ways to pay your IronOaks annual dues, including:

1. Setting up your payments through a secured online payment portal
2. Using your banking institution
3. Mailing / delivering a check or cash

IronOaks is now offering these new payment options for your annual HOA Dues, as the previous ACH method has been discontinued. A “How-To” instructional page is available here.
