Building Painting Begins December 4th

791 homeowners cast their votes for the color palette they preferred. By a margin of over 2 to 1, option One (pictured) was the top choice. The buildings were last painted in 2016 and it is time for a fresh coat! Regular painting keeps the buildings in top condition. The project will begin with the Oakwood Clubhouse. As buildings are being painted, some entrances may be affected. Signage will be in place, and we're working with the vendor to limit inconveniences for our homeowners. We anticipate the entire project will take 5-6 weeks to complete. Updates to this project will be included in the Stay in the Loop.

PET OF THE WEEK

We have two featured pets this week, since Thanksgiving caused our newsletter to be on paws!

Meet Shuri, a 4-year-old domestic shorthair cat that has found herself back at the Arizona Humane Society after over two years living in what she thought would be her forever home. Shuri isn't a stranger to AHS, as she was brought to the shelter in the spring of 2021 by our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians on grounds of abandonment. She was underweight and had scars on different parts of her body, but her sweet demeanor never faltered. She found a home just days after going up for adoption in 2021, but now she's back and ready for her second chance at forever. Shuri weighs just over 13 pounds now and all she wants in this life is to curl up in the perfect sun spot and nap. She prefers being the only child in the household but has lived with small dogs in the past, she would just like to meet them first! If it sounds like you'd fall in love with Shuri just like we have, click here to learn more.

Meet Farquaad, a 5-year-old 13-pound domestic shorthair cat that wants nothing more than for someone to love him as much as he will love them. Farquaad found himself in the Arizona Humane Society's care in August of this year after our Field team rescued him from severe hoarding conditions. Our team was not even able to determine when the poor cat last had consistent access to food and water, estimating that it may have been around two weeks of having to fend for himself. Although Farquaad was unsure of his new surroundings at first, he quickly warmed up and started showing off his sweet and cuddly side. This led to his adoption in September, though he was sadly returned a month later. Left to wonder why who he thought would be his forever family ultimately gave him back to AHS, Farquaad began stress grooming, which breaks our hearts to see because he really is such a gentle and loving boy who would make a great addition to any family. Since he has been with us for so long, Farquaad's adoption fee is completely waived! All you need to do is come down to meet him and give him some chin scratches, and we promise you will fall in love with him. Click here to learn more.
