Gate Update

The Halley call box was repaired on Monday, October 16th.  Champagne gate had the control board installed. The Gate Task Force is working to identify a new operating system. They are hoping to get a recommendation in front of the Board in November.

S. Dobson Gate Update

ParkPro was out Thursday, October 19th. The control board was purged and reloaded with data. The gate is still not working. Next steps are to check the control board and then the wiring. That will be done next week. Another issue is that the keypad at that gate is only for emergency vehicles, and the only code is for that purpose. The code has been shared, and we are hearing from others they see cars and carts using a code to get through the gate. The code is being changed and we are exploring other methods for emergency vehicle access: the Tomar system and the Knox keys. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this gate issue.

Golf Carts and Low Speed Vehicles (LSV)

IronOaks Rules and Regulations state, “Only licensed drivers are permitted to operate a motorized vehicle” and “Vehicles must be operated only on paved roads and parking lots. Driving off-road is prohibited except for golf carts being used for golf activities”.  Children un-licensed under the age of 15 should not be operating a golf cart, nor should a minor be “driving” when on the lap of an adult operating a golf cart. We have had near accidents reported recently. It is important to keep everyone safe while on our streets.

Tree Trimming

Last week, tree trimming continued around the EJ Robson Sun Lakes Blvd Loop area and is also occuring in Unit 46.

Arizona Humane Society’s Pet of the Week: Meet Hashbrown.

Hashbrown is a 10-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier and Rottweiler mix, but his adorable face leads us to believe he might also be part teddy bear. Hashbrown was found wandering the streets of Phoenix as a stray, barely able to keep himself up on his own paws. Once examined by our team of veterinarians in our trauma hospital, we learned that Hashbrown was living his life as a stray with arthritis, trekking on each day despite the pain and stiffness in his hind legs. Now, with the help of some medicine, Hashbrown is living out his golden years comfortably, eager to find a best friend to take him on leisurely strolls. In a big enough yard, you may even have the privilege of seeing this sweet boy get the zoomies, but make sure there's a lap nearby for him to take a nap on right after!
