Community Service Updates

  • Landscaping | The trim crew will be taking care of the landscape in the walking path through units 35, 36B, and 43.
  • Tree Trimming | The palm trees are still being trimmed and the crew will be focusing on the “trail heads” at the walking path next week. 90% of our 937 palm trees have been trimmed since the end of June!
  • Gate Access Project | The Gate Access Project Task Force has had a final review of the Request for Proposal and it has been sent out to qualified vendors. Once they are received back, they will meet to review and assess each proposal to verify they meet the requirements. The Project Process is comprehensive and meant to ensure that the most qualified vendor provides the best solution for the IronOaks community.

Ironwood Golf Shop Remodel

The Ironwood Golf Shop remodel is moving along quickly. The Shop has been completely emptied, and work to remove the flooring and wall details has been completed. See these updated photos of this exciting Reserve Fund project (RBA23-050).

We anticipate the construction portion of this project to be completed in September. The Golf Shop will then re-open with the existing fixtures. On September 25th when the Ironwood course is closed for the winter seeding, the Golf Shop will close again. During this time, new fixtures will be installed and the project's final touches will be completed. Homeowners will be treated to a grand re-opening on October 15th to celebrate the new Golf Shop and the re-opening of the Ironwood golf course.

Recycle Your Sneakers

Closet full of old sneakers?  Give them a second chance at life.  Donate them by placing them in the box located across from the Billiards Room in the Oakwood Clubhouse. We have already turned in 5 of these boxes filled to the brim with sneakers. These shoes are on their way to being refurbished and sent to other areas where a good pair of shoes is considered “transportation.” Shoes transport kids to school, adults to work, and families to friends. Your shoes can help. We will take donations until the last box is full. Thank you to everyone who is participating!

Let’s fill those 50 appointments and save some lives! Donors will be entered into a drawing for 1 of 5 $5,000 gift cards.

San Tan Animal Rescue Needs Your Help

This rescue, also known as STAR, is a 501 (C)3 nonprofit charity. They are a no-kill organization whose mission is to rescue animals that have been abandoned, neglected, or otherwise placed in harm's way. They provide temporary housing for adoptable pets and promote and encourage responsible care including spaying, neutering, microchipping, and vaccinating before the pet goes to its new home. All pets are fostered in private homes. Check out their “wish list," shop, and bring items to the Oakwood Clubhouse Lobby.  There is a wooden chest with signage to place your items in. View the wish list here.

Arizona Humane Society’s Pet of the Week

Kona loves splashing in the kiddie pool at the Arizona Humane Society. We think she would love to go for swims at the lake or cool off in the pool with her new family. Kona is 4 years old so she still has lots of energy to run and play. This playful American Pit Bull Terrier mix had a blast meeting the young animal lovers during AHS' summer camp programs. She made sure to greet every child with a big tail wag (and a few kisses). When she's not entertaining AHS campers, Kona also enjoys playing a fun game of fetch. She would love to find an active family to take her on lots of fun adventures. She is a medium-sized dog who weighs about 50 pounds. Kona prefers to be the center of attention, so she needs to be the only pet in her new home. Kona is waiting to meet her new family at AHS' South Mountain Campus.
