Click here if you attended or viewed a recorded session and are ready to take the Survey.

Thank you to our homeowners who have taken the Survey!

Document Control

IronOaks is over 25 years old, and as you can imagine, we have plenty of records and data. The Board is looking to put together a Task Force charged with determining how to best handle all of the documents and records. If you have a background in document control and/or are interested in preserving IronOaks' historical records, let us know! If you need more details/information, please contact Dave Erwin via email.

Jimmy Buffet Party a HUGE Success

Thank you to all of our residents and guests who came out to celebrate with us on the Oakwood Driving Range. The Jimmy Buffet tribute band was amazing, and everyone had a great time. We especially want to thank our wonderful resident volunteers.  Without you, we couldn’t have done it! Check out all of the fun photos on the IronOaks Facebook page. You’ll also see photos in the Oakwood Clubhouse on the televisions.

Pool Closures

The following pool closures are scheduled for water changes. Changing the water enables our team to manage the chemical levels in the pool. We apologize for these closures and the disruption to your swim schedules. The team will do their best to get the pools open as quickly as possible.

  • Oakwood Kiddie Pool
    Closed May 3rd - May 4th
    Reopen Thursday, May 5th
  • Oakwood Main and Lap Pool
    Closed May 12th - 14th
    Reopen Sunday, May 15th

Pickleball Court Closure

On Monday, May 2nd, the Pickleball courts will be closed so repairs can be made to the seals, cracks, and joints around the courts. This work will be done in the morning and will need the remainder of the day to cure. The courts will be locked during this time, and will reopen on Tuesday, May 3rd.

Community Turf Transition

We are coming out of the rye grass (WinterRye) season, and the BlueStar Landscape team is preparing for a transition to the summer Bermuda grass.

It is very important to follow our transition procedure or the Bermuda grass may die. Because the Bermuda grass has been dormant, it roots very slowly and has a limited amount of stored carbohydrates, which are quickly depleted in the spring as the Bermuda begins to initiate new growth. However, the perennial rye grass used for overseeding grows aggressively, particularly in the spring. The Bermuda must be able to get its share of sunlight, air, nutrients, and water in order to compete with the rye grass and maintain healthy growth.

The process for a successful summer grass is:

  1. Mowing
Proper mowing controls allow the Bermuda grass to receive enough sunlight and air for new growth. By the end of April, the mowing height will be decreased, causing the rye grass to die and allowing the Bermuda grass to have optimum growing conditions.
  2. Watering Schedule
Every 3 to 5 days during April and May, the grass will be deep watered, allowing the water to reach roots for a complete soaking. When daytime temperatures are above 90 degrees F, deep watering will occur every 2 to 3 days.
  3. Fertilizing
Once per month we will use a balanced fertilizer that is specific for the low desert soil and from the results of our soil samples. The balanced fertilizer will contain nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. 21-0-0 is very common to use at startup during the summer.
  4. Soil Preparation
In several of the common areas, the soil has become so compact that little air, sunlight, or water is able to filter to the grass roots. The landscape team will begin aerating the soil and adding sand to those areas. This allows the nutrients to reach grass roots and provide an environment for growth.

Below is what residents will see:

While these dirt plugs may not be attractive, they are necessary.  They will break down and add nutrients back into the soil. You will also notice sand and water on sidewalks. Please use caution in these areas.

Thank you for your patience.

Age Verification Request Form

Due to new requirements by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), we now must have age verification forms from our residents. These forms must be updated every two years to enable IronOaks to maintain its minimum resident age requirements. If you have not done so already, please pick up a form in one of these locations:

  • Fitness Center
  • Oakwood Concierge Desk
  • Oakwood Golf Shop

The form is also available at IronOaksAZ.com. Once you log in, the top banner will display, showing "55+ Age Verification Form." Fill in the information, list every resident living in your home, along with their birthdates. You can sign the form using your mouse (or your finger if on a touch device). When you click "Submit" on the form, it will be securely, electronically delivered to the person handling the forms.
