Golf and Fitness Newsletter for April

This month’s newsletter is available in two formats:

Lakes Course Closure | May 6th

The upcoming Lakes Course closure on May 6th includes several construction items. One of those items is changing the pilings on the lake on green #9 and the tee area on #2. The water levels will need to be lowered to perform this work. It will need to be lower than the safety shelf in the lake so they can stand on it and install the new pilings and concrete. Golf Maintenance is going to start pumping water out of the lake around April 10th to 15th to be ready for the work to commence on May 6th. They hope to have that completed within 60-70 days from the start.

Haley Water Feature

The shaft has broken on the pump motor and it's out of warranty. A replacement motor has been located in California, and we anticipate it will arrive in 5-7 business days.

Trees Have Arrived!

Planting will begin next week along the Sun Lakes Robson loop.

Oakwood Main Pool, Lap and Kiddie Pool Upcoming Closure | May 1st-20th

We understand this is an inconvenience, but this necessary work will make it possible for pool users to enjoy the pool in the future.  During this process, the pools will be drained and repaired. Work on the deck will involve cutting, which is dirty and dusty. Please use one of the other pools in the community: Halley, Voax, or the Ironwood Clubhouse pool. You are also able to visit Cottonwood’s pool with our community reciprocal agreement.

Play It Forward 2024 Benefiting Neighbors Who Care

Our Play It Forward 2024 team is filled with immense gratitude for the overwhelming support received from our sponsors, participants, and homeowners. This year’s aggressive goal was $25,000 and we smashed it. As of noon this past Saturday, we'd raised $35,000, and money was still rolling in. It was a fabulous day for Neighbors Who Care, our Racquet Club, and IronOaks.

Participants enjoyed pickleball and tennis matches, and everyone embraced the goodwill that radiated throughout the complex. The music was rockin’ and our emcee did an outstanding job keeping everyone engaged.

Three years ago, we chose Neighbors Who Care for our annual charity fundraiser because this organization supports our entire community. So many of our homeowners benefit from the services offered, and many of us may have future needs. Neighbors Who Care helps more than 600 homebound seniors through the generosity of volunteers offering their time and resources to transport them to medical appointments and grocery shopping, to offer respite to caregivers, to deliver meals Mondays through Fridays, and group shopping in its community van, just to name a few.

Our sincere THANKS to all of you who gave so generously!

Road Work Project

The community’s 2024 road work project will begin on April 22nd. We will be doing concrete repairs, asphalt repairs, asphalt replacement, crack filling, and seal coating in the areas on the map.

Community notices will begin next week with specific areas, construction routes, and any closures.  You may also stay informed via IronOaksAZ.com after you login.  On the homepage banner, we are posting updates as well as at the bottom of the page in the IronOaks News section which is also available on your phones via the app.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Lynelle Glysson via email.
