Crime | Suspicious Activity

Are you the potential victim of a crime? The FIRST call you need to make is to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office at 602.876.1000 (Oakwood & certain sections of Ironwood). If you live in Unit 33 in Ironwood, call the Chandler Police Department at 480.782.4900.

Your Patrol team can only observe and document. They are unable to take any other action.

Dollars & Sense

Last week we shared January's data with you, and this week we're sharing February's data. Click here (PDF) to review it. March numbers will be available after April 28th.

As the Temperatures Rise, Please Remember Your Best Friend.

Even in the shade it is beginning to get hot. Please remember your furry friends and don’t leave them in your car while you work out, play tennis or Pickleball, or run in to handle business for a minute. Another area of concern is the ground when you are out walking your pet. Air temperatures and asphalt temperatures can be vastly different.

We know you love them, so please use caution when going out for those rides and walks.

COVID 19 Vaccinations

If you need assistance getting an appointment and/or understanding the various options, please click on a name below to email them. Provide your name, address, phone number, and birth date. They will coordinate to have whoever is available return your call as soon as their schedule allows.

Updated instructions on booking an appointment can be found here. (PDF)

Pool Bathrooms at the Ironwood Clubhouse Closed for Remodeling

The remodel continues to go well and we are on track to open the Ironwood Clubhouse pool restrooms by April 30th. We’ll then move on to the other pool restrooms.

Emergency Contacts

In the event that your family is looking for you and you are unable to answer their phone call, please make sure a family member has these important numbers:

  • Patrol: 480.802.4937 | They can conduct a well check and make sure you are ok.
  • Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office: 602.876.1000
  • Chandler Police (if resident of Unit 33): 480-782-4900
  • A trusted neighbor’s phone number

Other options:
Residential Emergency Lock Boxes | The Arizona Fire & Medical Authority (AFMA) Emergency Lockbox Program is designed to allow firefighters and emergency medical services personnel to potentially gain faster access and limit damage to homes and businesses during emergencies when no one is available or physically able to open the door.

The box itself is a thick steel box that has a locking faceplate on the front of it. This box is mounted to the home or business in a specific location so that during an emergency, AFMA personnel can use the keys locked inside of the box to gain entry. The only keys to the lock boxes are controlled by the Authority.

The emergency lockbox can be purchased for a onetime fee of approximately $50. For more information, please contact the Authority Administrative Offices at 623.544.5400.

After receiving your lockbox, AFMA staff will make an appointment to have the lockbox installed free of charge by Authority personnel.

Get to know your neighbors. | Give a neighbor your garage code or an extra key. If they need to check on you, they can access your home.

Comment Card Overview

We had a total of 31 comment cards this week: six positive, one negative, and twenty-four neutral.

  • Positive comments included kudos on a wonderful Easter dinner. Many congratulations came in for Joe D’Amore on becoming HOA president. One was complimentary of the table game setup and coordination, which was handled by Ashley Mills.
  • Neutral comments included wanting to move the fitness classes inside that were relocated outside due to events; the remaining were varied and included weeds, concerts, fountains, etc.
  • A negative comment came in regarding mask policies and the inconsistency of messages from other communities and the governor.

As a reminder, each comment card is sent to the appropriate department, General Manager, and the Board. The submissions are reviewed and responded to by the department head and, occasionally, the General Manager. An individual from the Board will not respond to comments. They track these for discussion items for their Board Workshop.

DEPARTMENT UPDATES

Architecture & Landscape Department (ALD)

Please plan ahead and call the ALD office prior to having work done on your home. They will work with you to secure the appropriate permits to display. Permits are on brightly colored paper to ensure being seen from the street. Failure to post a work permit could result in a fine. For a complete list of permits and their appropriate applications, click here, log in, and you will be taken to the appropriate area.

Architecture & Landscape Department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm (closed from 12:00pm - 12:30pm for lunch).

Patrol

Patrol Gate Access | Please do not share the access code issued by the Patrol Office (2010) with vendors and guests. This code, while universal, is only being used until the gates are all on one system. Most importantly, vendors and guests need to be entering the community via the EJ Robson, Sun Lakes, and/or Halley Welcome Centers so that they can be logged in. This is for the safety and security of the entire community.

Cones | Mobile Patrol will no longer be taking refundable deposits for safety cones. Instead, disposable cones are available for purchase from the Patrol or ALD Offices for $20 for a set of two.

Patrol is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm (closed from 12:00pm to 12:30pm for lunch). Mobile Patrol can be reached at 480.797.6508.
