COMMUNITY UPDATES

Communications

Ever talk to someone in the community and find that they seem to in the dark on all that's going on? What bus trip? What meeting? What road work, gate closure, or construction news? Help them get informed with the facts. We have 2 main forms of communication:

  1. Weekly eNewsletters
    • Monday is Dining and Events
    • Thursday is Stay In The Loop
    • "Community Notice" updates sent occasionally on specific hot topics/activities
  2. We can also include you in our Text communications to your phone.
    • For golf information, text IOGOLF to 71441
    • For general information, text IRONOAKS TO 71441
    • For fitness information, text IOFITNESS TO 71441

If you or your friends or family need assistance getting "in the loop," please call Michele at 480.317.3620 or email [email protected].

Oakwood Clubhouse Wi-Fi

Is your phone, laptop, or tablet moving slow? Check out our improved WiFi at the Oakwood Clubhouse!

  1. Go to your settings.
  2. Go To Wi-Fi, look for "Oakwood-Guest"
  3. When prompted for a password, type in ironoaks (all lowercase)

Walkers

Please remember to walk facing oncoming traffic. This gives you a better opportunity to react should someone not see you in the road.

Golf Cart Parking

Parking can be a challenge throughout IronOaks on a beautiful day when everyone ventures out to play a sport, enjoy lunch, or attend an event.

Here are some tips for golf cart drivers:

  1. Spots with the short line in the middle are designated for two golf carts to park (pictured).
  2. If a parking space without the short line is not available, please feel free to park in a regular spot for cars, but pull to one side, so another cart may park beside you.
  3. There is also a new area on the north side of the Clubhouse. These spots are great because you can pull off the walking path and access any of the 17 spots by driving behind the carts already parked.
  4. Golf cart spots are provided in every area where you find an amenity. Check them out, and let’s all park to utilize the space for everyone’s benefit.
  5. Please note there are "No Parking" areas. We appreciate everyone observing these areas in an effort to keep all of our residents safe.

Fact vs. Fiction

FICTION: IronOaks is just fine the way it is, and we don’t need to make any improvements.

FACT: Our Board of Directors hired the McMahon Group to assist with the Master Plan. A Survey was sent out in the fall of 2020 to learn what our homeowners want to change.

The McMahon Group are experts in consulting with communities, and they helped us understand the Survey results. The Master Planning Committee then used those results to create specific plans. The presentation they'll share will include costs and benefits of these new plans.

Many of your prior requests have become reality. A couple of years ago we had no pickleball courts. Today we have more pickleball players than tennis players. And you can still get a tennis court!

Years ago, the Sunsets Restaurant was hardly used, food was mediocre, and it was losing hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. You wanted that fixed. The Board transformed the restaurant into Stone & Barrel and hired BlueStar to help manage the food and beverage consolidated operation and all aspects of our daily operation. Today, it’s a thriving business and financial success! Last year the consolidated food and beverage operation made a profit. This is rare among golf course communities across the country. Most communities must financially support the losses of their restaurants.

Please plan to attend one of the meetings (two Zoom-only meetings will be recorded and available in addition to three in-person meetings) for the presentation by Frank Vain with McMahon Group. This is where you can get the most accurate and up to date information.

Master Planning Committee Rolls Out Information Sessions

Throughout April, Master Planning will be hosting Information Sessions to educate our residents on improvements they would like, how they would be funded, and what, exactly, is included. All of the Sessions are the same, and you only need to attend one to get the facts.

Be on the lookout each Friday for a series of newsletters called Fact vs. Fiction.

Here are the dates for the Information Sessions:

  • Monday, April 4th, 3:00pm (Zoom only - Link is available at IronOaksAZ.com)
  • Tuesday, April 5th, 9:00am | Ballroom
  • Wednesday, April 13th, 6:00pm | Ballroom
  • Thursday, April 14th, 4:00pm (Zoom only, with link to follow)
  • Friday, April 15th, 9:00am | Ballroom

Email [email protected] if you have any questions.

Bushes and Trees

Be a good neighbor and keep your trees and bushes trimmed. If hanging over onto your neighbor’s property, they have the right to trim the tree and bush.

Age Verification Request Form | Deadline To Respond is April 15th

In order to maintain our tax status associated with being a 55+ community, we must verify our residents' average age. The 80/20 rule says 80% of our homeowners must be 55 years of age or older to maintain preferential tax status.

If you have not yet filled out your age verification form, you can now find this form on IronOaksAZ.com

After you log in, go to "HOA" at the top of the page. Look for "Departments and Forms."  Once on that page, look for "ALD." Here you will see all the forms available. "Age Verification" is on the list. Once filled out, click “Submit,” and you are done. The form will be delivered via email to Veronica Semey.

Questions?  Please feel free to call Veronica at 480.317.3601

Thank you to everyone who has completed it so far!
