Common Questions

We often hear the question, “Why don’t we have walking paths in the Oakwood section of IronOaks?” The main reason is due to car and golf cart traffic. The street width does not provide enough space to keep everyone safe. If you would like to review the traffic study, you can do so here.

Gate Access Meetings

Thank you to everyone who came out to the two meetings held this week on Monday and Tuesday.  If you were unable to attend, you can view the recorded session.

You can also stay up to date on information on the gates at IronOaksAZ.com. Sign in and go to HOA > Gate Access.  We are working on training videos, a Frequently Asked Questions section, and much more.

IronOaks Racquet Club's Annual "Play It Forward 2024" Charity Event benefiting Neighbors Who Care

Join the fun on Saturday, April 6th, by playing pickleball and/or tennis, or by donating. We will offer both gender and mixed play at $20 each. Sign-ups are in the Racquet Center lobby. Matches begin at 8:00am, in 50-minute increments.

If you can’t play, kindly consider donating. Check with your Tax Advisor as you could be eligible for a State Tax Credit. Checks should be made payable to Neighbors Who Care, noting it is on behalf of Play It Forward 2024.

Did you know that Neighbors Who Care serves 32 square miles? Sun Lakes is only 19% of their service area, but 80% of their workload. Through the support of volunteers, they help seniors remain independent and live fulfilling lives in their own homes. Thank you for your support of this worthy cause!

Free Bulk Trash Pick-Up Day is April 18th

Read more about this on page 3.

Tree Planting

Homeowners will soon notice that new trees are being planted along the Boulevards, starting on E.J. Robson. Some will be replacements; others will be new additions. All have been evaluated and selected to best fit our desert environment, including low water and maintenance requirements, as well as appropriateness for the space. The project is included in the annual budget and this first phase will include 49 trees. This list will provide you with the location and types of trees planned.

Calling all Parrotheads!

The Jimmy Buffet Tribute is coming and we’re partying on the Oakwood driving range. April 17th offers the PERFECT weather to slip on those flip flops and shorts and join us for a fun evening.  Temperatures should be in the low 80s during the afternoon and will cool to the mid-60’s – perfect for some island rum and some breezy tunes. Check them out here!

Musical Instrument Museum, April 19th is in Jeopardy of Cancellation!

If we don’t have more participation by April 3rd, this trip will be cancelled. We need an additional 29 participants for the trip to take place.

Explore the gallery of musical instruments with a guideport, which is an immersive experience allowing you to feel, hear, and see the history of music. Plenty of tickets remain. The cost is $70+ tax and includes roundtrip transportation, beverages on the coach, museum entrance, a guided tour, and a museum scavenger hunt!

Miscellaneous

Pet Of The Week

Meet our BUTTERful bunny this week, Butterscotch!  Butterscotch is a 3-year-old spayed female, orange Shorthaired Rabbit.  Butterscotch is as sweet as her name, and may have had too many sweet treats before we rescued her.  She was a little overweight and had some help in foster care to lose a couple of pounds.  Even though she will love to be a couch potato with you, don’t let her fool you, she will need to maintain her healthy rabbit diet!  Now, she is healthy and ready for her forever home, just in time for Easter!

Hop on over to meet Butterscotch or visit the website to view all other pets waiting to be adopted.
