Community News

Important Information You Should Know to Vote:

  1. Gather Knowledge! The Election ’24 Board Candidate page is available after you log in, under "HOA." Candidate biographies and videos are available here and on your Smart phone under IronOaks News.
  2.  Electronic & Paper Vote Opens Friday, February 16th
  3. Look for your postcard with directions on voting electronically early next week for all homeowners current in their financial obligations.
  4. Paper ballots are available at the Oakwood Concierge. Request one to be mailed by calling 480.317.3600.
  5. Electronic Vote Closes March 7th at 4:00pm.
  6. In-Person Voting occurs March 8th from 9:00am-9:30am in the Bradford Room.
  7. Questions about voting email [email protected].
  8. If your account had an outstanding balance or became current after February 1st, you will have to cast your vote via paper ballot for the Board Election. You may pick up a paper ballot at the Oakwood Concierge desk or you may call 480.317.3600 to request a ballot be mailed to you anytime as of February 16th.

Why does the Election Committee have a different cut-off date for electronic voting?

The Election Committee provides two ways to vote; electronic voting and paper ballot.

The Electronic voting company needs a homeowner list of all eligible voters (those whose assessments are up to date) with enough time to prepare for the beginning of the vote. Therefore, the Committee has to establish a date that gives them enough time to get the information to the company.

If someone has paid their assessment after the cut-off date, they can still vote by paper ballot, just not electronically. Homeowners do not even have to leave their homes to get a ballot. A phone call to the Concierge desk at 480.317.3600 is all it takes. A ballot will be mailed to you.

HOA Account Balances

With the change in the grace period for paying the semi-annual assessment, homeowners who paid after January 16th have had a late fee applied. You can check your account on IronOaksAZ.com after signing in and looking on the homepage for “My Statement,” to see if you are current in your fees. If you need to call the Accounting department to discuss this, please be kind. Yelling and insulting team members is counterproductive to a resolution.

Poolside Community Center Renovation Approved To Advance To The Next Phase

The next project in the HOA Master Plan timeline is the Poolside renovation, which was approved by the Master Planning Committee in December 2023 and moved to the Board of Directors. At the January 2024 Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved advancing the project to Phase V of the Project Process.

The project team will now finalize architectural plans and submit them to the Board for approval. Once approved, the plans will go out for bid. Bids will be reviewed and revised as necessary. The Board will request a final review by the Finance Committee. The project team will then submit an RFP for final approval or denial of the project by the Board.

Thank you to all the homeowners who participated in the Poolside redesign phase. Your feedback continues to be invaluable as we progress through IronOaks community enhancements.

Golf Shop Patio

Recent rains have had us slowed down a bit, but next week will be busy with inspections. On Monday, the structural engineer for the project will inspect the footings.  The County will also be out that day to inspect and approve. After that we anticipate the project moving forward, with the next step of pouring the patio support pillar footings. We will keep you updated on progress each week with pictures and details as available.

Jason Morton Tennis Tournament

From February 29th through March 3rd, 2024, the Jason Morton Tennis Tournament will be here at the IronOaks Tennis courts.  Please join us for some amazing players and volleys as they compete in this prize money USTA-sanctioned tournament. Be aware if you are around the tennis courts and the Oakwood Clubhouse, traffic will be heavy and you may need to allow more time to find parking. Also, the Ironwood courts will be reserved for tournament play during this time. Be patient and be aware of the many people walking through the parking lot and surrounding area.

Pickleball Courts Closed on February 15th from 3:00pm-9:00pm

Repairs will involve new light heads, laser sighting, and light directing, followed by measuring light levels after sunset.  Courts will reopen on Friday, February 16th, with a regular schedule of play. We apologize for the inconvenience.
