Congratulations are in order for the Sun Lakes winners of the Crystal Award. The Crystal Award recognizes those in our community who serve others and make Sun Lakes a better place. A banquet will be held in their honor on March 10th at 5:00pm. Tickets are now on sale at the Sun Lakes Country Club. Tickets are $35 and can be paid for by check or cash.

Diamond Lake Fountain

Maintenance is being done on the fountain and it will be back in service once this work is completed.

Dining Specials via TEXT

Text IODINING (O as in Oscar) to 38316 to receive Specials at Grill on the Green and Stone & Barrel. These aren’t your typical specials. These are deals like $3 drinks and even complimentary food. We’re texting these deals to those who sign up for our Dining Texts.

If you like the promotion, join us, show us your text message, and get the deal (not everyone will enjoy this deal, so be sure to show us or tell us you got the text). Don’t miss out! Text IODINING to 38316 Today!

Door-to-Door Solicitation

Per the IronOaks Rules and Regulations, “All non-member solicitation is prohibited within the entire community of IronOaks except for vendors who have the approval of the Association for specific events.” Patrol, Gate and Compliance staff work to keep uninvited solicitors out of the community. However, the best defense against solicitors is the residents of IronOaks.  Here are a couple of ways you can deter uninvited solicitors:

  • Report the name of the company to Community Services. If you have additional information like a phone number or a picture of the vehicle, please share that as well.
  • Do not hire door-to-door solicitors. If they do not get business by going door-to-door, then they will stop.

Please help us keep the community free from solicitors. Report them and do not hire them.

Gate Update

The Robson call box is still inoperable. Please have guests use Sun Lakes entrance after 8:00pm. Please use a card device at that gate or use a different entrance. Mossy Rock and Oakwood Lakes are now working.

Luminary Walk at Diamond Lake

Final numbers are in from donations and it is truly heart warming how generous the IronOaks homeowners and their visitors are.

  • Monetary Donations:  $5,753 ($919 more than 2022)
  • Pantry Items:  6,814 lbs (1117 more than 2022)

This equates to providing 11,759 meals!

Thank you to all the homeowners surrounding the lake who spent so much time preparing the lake with luminary lights, decorating their homes, volunteering their time, and making this event so special.

If you are changing your lights/decorations for the upcoming season, the Diamond Lake residents may be able to use your old ones. Stay tuned for timing and details.

Pets Are Your Responsibility

If you have a pet, review the guidelines in the Rules & Regulations document on page seven regarding your responsibility when out with your pet.

Photos From New Year's Eve Celebration

If you attended this event and took a photo, please pick up your photo from the Oakwood Concierge desk. After January 31st, photos not picked up will be disposed of.

Golf Course Etiquette

If nature calls when playing golf, we've got you covered with comfort stations. You'll find them at the Ironwood Golf Shop and on the Ironwood course at holes #5 and #13. At Oakwood, they're located at the Oakwood Golf Shop and on Sonoran #6, Lakes #7, and Palms #2 and #8. We have received calls from homeowners. They are watching, and some even have cameras - don’t be the one to be caught with your pants down.

Walking Path Benches

The Buildings and Grounds Committee has been reviewing bench locations on the walking path. Often there are clusters of benches in some areas and no benches in others. They have asked Facilities to move some of the benches to be more evenly distributed. Areas where there were multiple now, only one remains. Please contact Lynelle Glysson if you have any questions or concerns about the new locations.

Notable Events

  • Square Dancing, January 23rd | Not a square dancer? Not a problem! This fun event is all about making friends and moving. Carl T. will walk you through the steps. You’ll laugh and have a great time, so come give it a try. The cost is $10 (tax is already included) and tickets are available at the Oakwood Concierge.
  • The Annual First Responders Open House will be held at the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse Office (9531 E. Our Sun Lakes Posse Medical Equipment crew, along with all the members from both the community Posse and the MCSO Sheriff’s Posse will be on scene for the event to show our community the patrol units and the facility we use to serve the Sun Lakes Community seven days a week.
