PET OF THE WEEK

Coco is a 10-year-old German Shepherd/Shar-pei Mix who is one of the Arizona Humane Society’s long-time residents. Coco was first brought to an Emergency Animal Clinic after being found as an injured stray. Our field team was called to pick her up, and she was quickly transported to our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Our SCATH team discovered she had puncture wounds in her neck and multiple scab wounds around her body. They prescribed her pain medication, anti-inflammatory medication, and wound care to ensure these wounds were fully healed prior to her debut on the adoption floor.

Now that golden-girl Coco has recovered from her injuries, she is ready to find the perfect fur ever home to spend her golden years in! Our behavior team does require her to meet any other dogs in her potential new home prior to adoption, and she may do best with calmer dogs. Coco is 72-pounds and has slowed down in her old age. She loves to be the center of attention and has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite with her friendly demeanor. If you’re interested in adopting Coco, click here to check her out!
